3 Easy Christmas Decorating Ideas

No matter how you decide to decorate your home and table this Christmas
it is the personal touches that make all the difference. Here are a few
quick ideas:

Rosebud Ball Christmas Tree Decorations

Dried, preserved and artificial flowers offer a variety of possibilities
for making delicate ornaments.

To make rosebud balls you will need

3 cm or 2 inch Styrofoam ball
Red rosebuds dried, preserved or artificial
Red ribbon to make hanger
Red paint to coat Styrofoam ball
Toothpick

Instructions

Paint the ball and dry thoroughly. To insert the rosebud make holes in
the ball with a toothpick. Dip the stems in craft glue and insert into
the ball. Continue until the ball is covered leaving enough space to pin
and glue a ribbon hanger in place.

Mini Tree Tabletop Decorations

Mini Christmas trees make a festive table or shelf decoration.

You will need

Mini Cyprus trees from a garden center
Small ceramic or terracotta pots
Miniature ornaments, bows and baubles for decorating the trees

Instructions

Plant the trees into the pots and decorate with the ornaments and bows.
Stand in a line down the center of a table or on a shelf. They also look
great massed into a group or planted in a trough. When Christmas is over
the trees can be planted out into the garden.

Gold Braided Votive Candle Holders

Metal candle votive holders can be turned elegant displays for use
throughout the home. Because they are inexpensive they can be displayed
massed together on trays, flat mirrors or metal platters.

You will need

Metal Votive holders and candles
Lengths of gold or sparkling lace braid

Instructions

Cut braid slightly longer than the outside diameter of the holder so
that the two ends overlap slightly. Fix the braid with glue or
alternatively use double sided sticky tape.

Experiment decorating votives with velvet ribbon, beaded braid, sequined
trims or other trims that are available.
