Here I will be posting pictures of readers successful projects to inspire us all! If you have a digital image of a project you're proud of that you'd like to share, please email k_wilson@thebudgetdecorator.com BEFORE YOU SEND THE PHOTOS with the subject line Reader Photos.
This is a photo of my good friend Janet's new couch. Ok, you'd think it was new, but she actually reupohlstered it herself! And she matched the cushion fabric to her dining room chairs, and she used outdoor fabric to protect from kids and pets (which she got very cheap!) and to top it all off, those swags over the window are $1 a yard fabric from a discount store! A woman after my own heart! If you don't want to actually reupohlster, think of how you could use this technique for slipcovers, or even just new cushion covers and pillows! (If we're lucky, I can get her to send me a photo of her current project soon!)
Christy sent these in of her redecorated small bathroom. She repainted the entire cabinetry (including the countertops!) and did some great detail painting! Her "Coup de gras"? The toilet seat! By the way, she reports having used the KILZ primer and 4 coats of polyurenthane I recommend for countertop painting, and she say in 6 months, not a scratch!
