Ok, does anyone besides me LOVE a good thrift store dresser? Find one with good bones, and you have the chassis to a bunch of great DIY repurposed dresser projects! More than just a repaint and new knobs, thrift store dresser ideas show you how creative bloggers can take a simple piece of furniture, and turn it into a unique piece! Yea. I know. These are totally cool, and totally doable. It’s a Goodwill day for me!

Repurposed Dresser Makeovers

Corey at ‘Sawdust 2 Stitches‘ knows how to make repurposed furniture, and nothing scares her. Check out her tutorial on how she took this $5 garage sale dresser, and turned it into this amazing DIY apothecary cabinet. Her photos take you through step by step on how she did it. This looks like an expensive piece from RH or PB to me… LOVE!

DeDe from ‘Designed Decor‘ shows us how she repurposed a thrift store dresser and created a dresser makeover wine bar. She even made the wine bottle holder, and shows you the easy steps. Oh, and the hook racks from the drawer fronts? Amaze. Ok, what if you put this on wheels, and added a butcher block top you could cut on?

Gail at ‘My Repurposed Life‘ turned this old thrift store dresser into a kid’s storage bench, and shows us how she did it with tons of photos and directions. What a cool repurposed dresser piece for the entry way as well!

Our next project is from sisters Melissa and Stephanie at ‘Two It Yourself”. They made this amazing dresser drawer to storage box project… but be sure to stop by their post, and see what awesome thing they did with the rest of the old dresser!

Repurpose a Thrift Store Dresser

Have you ever picked up a thrift store piece of furniture you intended to repair and makeover, only to find parts of it were beyond fixing? Crystal at ‘Urban Patina‘ had a creative fix for this repurposed dresser when one of the drawers just had to be tossed. This could stand in the entry or be a cute end table now! Love her attention to detail with the shelf liner inside the basket drawer…

Jennifer at ‘Pretend Fancy‘ created this DIY freestanding kitchen cupboard from a dresser with missing drawers. She made a few changes to make this work, and added some great detail that really sells this as a custom dresser makeover . (Which is what is is! Custom, by Jennifer!)

Check out the ‘Liz Marie Blog‘ for an amazing and practical idea for a repurposed dresser when it’s past it’s prime… She used hers to help create shelves for a craft closet space! And even though it’s being used for a practical purpose, she still took the time to make it pretty. Life is in the details folks. I’m learning this!

Lastly, Alicia at ‘Thrifty and Chic‘, (Y’all know her, we have featured her great projects before!) made this thrift store dresser makeover into a desk, and shares a great tutorial with us. I would LOVE, love, love to have this in my office. I adore the fabric backing she made too!

So, have you pulled those old thrift store dressers out of the garage, or are you stalking Craigslist right now? If you enjoyed our post on Repurposed Dresser Makeovers, also visit our post on Thrift Store Furniture Makeovers!
