A bit About me The budget decorator- creative decorating ideas and tips on a budget

I do this because I love switching up my home decor in quick, easy ways- especially if it’s on a budget! I am constantly looking for ways to elevate or just refresh my home, and sometime’s I’ll take on a new project just for the fun of having a project to do! But, alas, I can’t take on every fun project idea I see on the internet. So that’s why I come here to share those ideas with you! I hope you find ideas here to stir up your creativity and inspire you to take your home decor to the next level.

Here’s the home decor ideas I’m loving most now:

As I said, I can’t take on every project and trend I come across, but if I could, these would be top of my list!

  1. Green trending in home decor

It makes me so happy to see green trending. Green is my favorite color, and I think it looks absolutely stunning in offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and as a bold accent wall. What do you think, should I do a whole post all about incorporating stunning greens in your home decor? In the meantime, I’ll keep incorporating green through lots of plants, and maybe use one of the tutorials like this one by Macrame for Beginners from our post on macrame plant hangers.

  1. Unique tile shapes and backsplash ideas

Seeing fun tile shapes and colors like fish scale tiles, mixed colors, or these skinny subway tiles always makes me want to redo a bathroom or kitchen. I can’t really take on a project of that scale at the moment, though, so I may just need to use one of these ideas on how to redo a backsplash over the old one instead. But, can we just appreciate these I skimmed from Wayfair for a moment? That mint, grey and white combo in an elongated fish scale shape? Surfboard shaped tile? And tile that really makes your bathroom walls look like bamboo? So fun!

  1. Ikea hacks

I am a sucker for a good Ikea hack. I know people knock Ikea furniture for being cheap and poorly made, but I have a Kallax shelving unit that has been with me through four moves over 9 years, so I am definitely a believer! You can honestly make some pretty impressive custom cabinets, built ins, and closets with some creativity and Ikea cabinets! Check the proof in our post here. And for a preview, these beautiful shelves by “Living with Landyn” are just one of the ideas we share in the post!

4. Beautiful laundry rooms

Why? I don’t know, but I think having a gorgeous laundry room would make doing laundry so much more satisfying. And any size laundry room can be renovated, too! Just check out our post on small laundry room ideas and makeovers and you’ll see! This idea by “Rooms for Rent” is the perfect example.

5. Anything outdoors

I love anything related to decorating outdoor spaces.  I love being outside regardless of the amenities, but having a nice comfortable space to spend time outdoors really makes it even better. Anything that elevates your outdoor space and encourages your family to spend time together outside is certainly worth it. Like this space by “Southern Crush Home,” for instance, I could spend hours out there!
