We all know it… throw pillows perk up a room fast and inexpensively. Bedroom, family room, even the porch! But I just took a look on a popular online site, and any throw pillow that looks like more than a discount store basics starts at $36! Not that I have a problem with discount store basics, my house is full of them. But throw pillows are meant to fit you, your style and your personality! It’s just an easy way to have a decorating wardrobe that can change the whole feel of a room, and project your personal self. Ok, on to the DIY throw pillow projects, including some no sew, so don’t go running’ off if you don’t have a sewing machine!

Our first project is from ‘Compulsive Craftiness‘. Her easy zippered DIY throw pillow is really that… easy! And these are great if you have pets or kids, or have ever eaten on the couch… ’cause you can toss them in the wash.

Stephanie at ‘Fab You Bliss‘ made this totally cute, amazing felt sunflower DIY pillow. She has the complete tutorial at her site. Did I mention it was made from inexpensive felt? What I love about this is that I don’t usually gravitate towards cute in my decor…but this is sophisticated as well as fun!

Layla from The Lettered Cottage and Ashley from ‘Handmade Home‘ created these amazing cottage style pillows. These are so fresh and welcoming! You will love find Ashley’s easy directions for how to make a throw pillow.

Vanessa at ‘V and Co‘ teaches us to make this very DIY cool shag pillow with her tutorial. I love that this could be colorful or cute, or done in neutral colors, textural and a little fun for a more subdued style.

Autumn at…well, ‘It’s Always Autumn‘, of course, has a decorative DIY throw pillows sewing tutorial that you shouldn’t miss. These pillows, with the added details of ruffles and pom poms make these look custom. Love it!

I really love this. I’m going to look for some plaid shirts at the thrift shop today.
