We all need a bed, and there aren’t very many of us who wouldn’t like a little more storage space… and we want it on a budget, right? Pretty tall order considering how expensive furniture can be. But, where there is a will, there’s a way, so let us introduce you to these DIY storage bed tutorials. These will help you build your own piece of furniture for a fraction of what it would cost you to buy it in a retail store. Save money building your own bed, and save space with extra storage!
Buying vs Building a Bed Frame with Storage
Before we dive into these DIY projects, let’s take a step back. Making a DIY storage bed frame isn’t for everyone, and it requires a few skills and a bit of DIY experience. If this is your first DIY project, sure, you can give it a shot, but you might save yourself some time and stress by buying a storage bed frame, or some under-bed storage boxes for your current frame.
What do You Need to Build a DIY Bed Frame with Storage?
As well as time and experience, you’ll need a few tools. If you don’t already have basic DIY tools like a table saw, hammer, drill, and painting supplies, you’ll spend more money on supplies, but you’ll also have tools you can use for future DIY projects.
Take a close look at the tutorials below and decide whether you have the space, time, skills, and tools needed to undertake these projects. If you do, great! If not, it might be something you can come back to after you have a few other DIY projects under your belt.

Thx for sharing it with everyone Leanne! We LOVE your tin wall too!
Brilliant idea
Do you have the plans for the Stoleman platform stored somewhere? The original source has broke images for me.
I imagine it’s just placing the bed on top of the drawers but I don’t want to assume and do something wrong.
Hi Heather,
I went to the site and tried to search through with the translator, but the site definitely has some issues right now… The bed does indeed look to us as simple as laying a mattress on top. You would think laying the drawers on their side that the drawer frames would create natural braces. Obviously, check out the drawer unit and make sure it would be sturdy enough to support weight from the side… If we find the instructions, we will update!
