This DIY storage bed is another Ikea hack from Anita Sienudzi. The original post is in Dutch, but this is simply Ikea “Stolmen” storage drawers used as a base for a mattress. Doesn’t get simpler than that!

Want to really get crazy? This storage bed does not have a tutorial, but is a retail version of the lift bed above. And it’s brilliant! A few little design tweaks and you have a closet in a bed! From French designer ‘Parisot‘.

 

Try this platform DIY storage bed from ‘Diva of DIY‘. It has a really easy to follow tutorial with lots of step by step photos. And you have to go just to see the amazing metal wall behind the bed! The vintage styling in this room is really well done.

 

Need something a little bigger? This last one is a king size  DIY storage bed from ‘Kate with a Camera’ via ‘Fine Craft Guild‘ is another ‘Ana White’ plan, executed brilliantly! It looks exactly like the Pottery Barn Stratton Bed. (Which was the intention, it is a knock off!)

    Do you have the plans for the Stoleman platform stored somewhere? The original source has broke images for me.

    I imagine it’s just placing the bed on top of the drawers but I don’t want to assume and do something wrong.

      Hi Heather,
      I went to the site and tried to search through with the translator, but the site definitely has some issues right now… The bed does indeed look to us as simple as laying a mattress on top. You would think laying the drawers on their side that the drawer frames would create natural braces. Obviously, check out the drawer unit and make sure it would be sturdy enough to support weight from the side… If we find the instructions, we will update!
