DIY Coffee Table Ideas

Coffee Table Ideas with Hairpin Legs

Our first cool coffee table idea is a 15 minute DIY coffee table by ‘Ugly Duckling House‘. Lot’s of step by step photos for this easy project, even for beginners! This is a clever project that literally just takes simple 2×4’s and hairpin legs.

While we are on the subject of simple, I really love this pallet DIY coffee table with hairpin legs. (I love most things with hairpin legs, but this is cool!) This is another project suited for beginners, and photos show you how to attach the legs, from ‘Homedit‘.

From Emma at ‘A Beautiful Mess‘, this wooden DIY coffee table is way cool. Again, just 2×4’s and hairpin legs, but configured in such an interesting way! Love this!

Do It Yourself Cool Coffee Tables

DIY Coffee Tables with Storage

This coffee table with storage from ‘Nick and Alicia‘ is great for families. It has pull out Shaker style drawers, and would be perfect for toys, crafts, etc… Bonus : It’s super pretty too! Free plans to build this baby in a weekend. Intermediate skills for this one.

This lift top DIY coffee table from ‘Chisel and Fork‘ may look complicated, but with the step by step instructions and photos, it’s not! The entire table top is on a lift mechanism that allows storage inside. But even better, the top, when open, is the right height to use for dining! He says the toughest part of this project is attaching the lift hardware, but he takes you through it so even a beginner can do this.

The Locker‘ got inspired to make this cool coffee table with industrial style by a Pinterest pin, and then went about creating a detailed tutorial so you can do it too. They used cedar planks and some black piping to get this modern/rustic look.

Jen at ‘City Farmhouse‘ made this Ikea hacked barnyard coffee table that looks like a much more expensive piece than it is. Lot’s of step by step photos.

Modern Coffee Table Ideas

This concrete and wood coffee table is stunning, right? ‘Jen Woodhouse‘ has free plans for this tutorial, and you can find plans for a matching dining table here as well! Jen has always been one of our fav woodworkers, and if you have some DIY experience, you can make this beauty for your very own. Can you imagine what this would cost at a store?

This pretty modern coffee table idea is super simple. It is constructed with Gorilla glue, not solder, so for most of us, this is an easy project. From ‘Home Made Modern‘, we think this strikes the perfect balance between modern and transitional style.

This round coffee table from two sisters at ‘The Merry Thought‘ definitely takes a little more skill to make. But if you have intermediate skills, this is a stunning piece that looks very high end. Lots of how-to photos and direction.
